Meet Rorri Geller-Mohamed, LCSW
Hi! I’m Rorri. I’m a family therapist, parent and relationship coach, and owner of U Power Change. Our mission at U Power Change is to ensure that people feel heard, understood, and empowered to live their life as their authentic self, connect with family, and guide their children to thrive. We strive to create systemic change so that we can all live and thrive in a loving and inclusive multicultural, multiracial, and multifaith world. We believe that using a family lens and a community context is necessary and often the missing link to solve personal, relationship, parenting, and family challenges.
I started U Power Change with the vision to become a family and social justice institute that provides family counseling, education and training, consultation services, advocacy, and leadership with a focus on family and social justice. This vision and my desire to do this work was inspired by growing up with an adopted sibling as a multiracial family, marrying someone from a different cultural and faith background, and being a mom to children growing up with a multi-identity family.
My professional background includes a Masters degree in Social Work from Columbia University, training at the Ackerman Institute for the Family, and working with youth, parents, and families in a variety of school, community, and clinical settings for over 15 years. I am also bilingual in Spanish which I learned as an adult through language study and travel.
